| Hand spinning demonstration at Indiaart Gallery, Pune - 1
Hand spinning ( cotton yarn spinning on charkha by hand ) demonstration was presented on Gandhi Jayanti, 2nd October 2016 at Indiaart Galley, Pune. This was organised jointly by Dastakar Andhra and Indiaart Gallery.
Dastkar Andhra is a 25 year old organisation which works on policy, research and advocacy aspects of the cotton handloom industry in the country. It works actively with handloom co-operatives in Andhra and Telangana on promotion and marketing of cotton handloom products. These hand woven products are woven by weavers who are members of handloom co-operatives.
