The journey from the cotton field to the handloom fabric is one of Andhra Pradesh’s most well known – the journey of many journeys: from fields to spinning wheels, from the white of cotton to nature’s blues, greys and yellows: many yarns to one elaborate warp, the warp that then makes it to the loom.

Dastkar Andhra presents this journey through a photo exhibition at Indiaart Gallery, Bhosale Nagar, Pune from 1st to 7th October, 2016. The photo exhibition illustrates the full process of the cotton handloom production process from spinning to weaving the fabric.

The pictures have been produced on cotton handloom fabric to create a sense of intimacy with the fabric itself to deliver a unique aesthetic experience.
